2022: 10 coaches at institution in Cherokee County earned on average $52,626

Cherokee County’s 10 coaches earned an average salary of $52,626 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the fifth highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Oklahoma post-secondary schools during 2022.

Cherokee County is home to just one post-secondary school which paid coaches during 2022.

Male coaches of men's teams received $60,151 on average in Cherokee County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $45,100.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
