6.5% of Cherokee County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Cherokee County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,383 people out of the 47,307 living in Cherokee County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Cherokee County has decreased compared to the 7.7% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Cherokee County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5%.

Of the 19,997 people who had a job during that time, 38 were employed in the Armed Forces and 19,959 belonged to the civilian labor force.
