Northeastern State University Women's Soccer Set For Final Regular Season Road Trip

Northeastern State makes its final regular season road trip this upcoming weekend, where they will visit Northwest Missouri Friday and then Missouri Western on Sunday afternoon.

With four matches left in the regular season, the RiverHawks (5-2-7) are needing some wins to assist its chase for an 11th consecutive MIAA postseason berth.   Heading into this weekend's matches, they are 2-2-3 in MIAA play with nine points and seventh overall in the standings.  

The RiverHawks are two points ahead of Rogers State and Missouri Western, who are tied in the standings with seven points.  The top eight teams in the regular season advance to the MIAA Tournament.  Looking up the leaderboard, NSU is just four points back of a three-way tie for third place.

In 14 matches played, NSU has eight shutouts, which is tied for the tenth most in the nation this season.

History with the Bearcats

The RiverHawks lead the series 10-4-1 over Northwest Missouri and have won the last six meetings; the last four have been 2-1 finals.  NSU is 3-3-1 against the Bearcats when on the road.

Scouting the Bearcats (8-0-4, 3-0-2 MIAA)

- Northwest Missouri is tied for third nationally with nine shutouts.

- Kaylie Rock is fifth in the MIAA in goals (6) and seventh nationally with eight assists.

- The Bearcats have won three consecutive shutouts heading into Friday's contest with NSU.

History with the Griffons

Northeastern State leads the series 7-3 over Missouri Western and is 3-2  when facing the Griffons on the road.

Scouting the Griffons (4-7-3, 2-4-1 MIAA)

- Keeley Kroonenberg with one of four goalkeepers in the MIAA to play every minute of every match this season and is third with 29 saves.

- Missouri Western leads the MIAA and is 21st nationally with 6.43 fouls per match.

- Kaili Campbell paces the MIAA with 3.79 shots per game and has four goals on the year.

Coming Up

The RiverHawks will return home for the final weekend of the regular season, where they will host Newman and Rogers State.
