Myka Heimbach landed two early goals for the RiverHawks, but Newman would find an equalizer in the 50th minute to tie the match at 2-2 and hand NSU its third consecutive draw Friday evening.
Northeastern State closes its non-conference slate at 3-0-4 with four draws, one short of matching the season high for the program. The final three matches of the 2019 season are the most reach time NSU had three consecutive draws.
Heimbach gave the RiverHawks the early momentum in the third minute, launching a shot from 30 yards out and sailing over the Newman keeper's reach at the top part of the goal. She would add to the lead 19th minute by getting a cross pass from Hannah Stettler.
Offensively, Newman (0-6-1) made their shots count Friday, scoring in the first attempt taken of the night in the 30th minute. The Jets had six overall in 90 minutes, four being on-goal.
The RiverHawks had 15 shots, and 12 corner kicks to Newman's three.
Northeastern State heads next to Edmond to open MIAA play Sunday at Central Oklahoma.
