Connors State College Cowboys Release 2022-2023 Schedule

Connors State head men's basketball coach Bill Muse has announced the Cowboys 2022-2023 schedule. This season will embark on his thirty-first campaign at the helm of the cowboys with a career record of 713 Wins and 252 Loses. 

"Our schedule is a challenge once again for us," Muse said. "Our schedule features games in states of Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and Arkansas which allows us to compete at the highest level".

"Longtime rival Independence Community College will make a return to Melvin Self Field-House this year for the first time since the 2014-2015 season," Muse said. Challenging road trips to Paris Junior College and National Park College are on the schedule this year". 

The Cowboys' first two games of the 2022-2023 season will be at home with Arkansas Tech coming to Melvin Self Fieldhouse for a Tuesday Night Home Opener at 7 p.m. on Nov. 1. Southwestern Christian (Nov. 2) will round out the opening slate of home games before Connors State hits the road for a non-conference game at Paris Junior College (Nov. 6). The Cowboys then return home for a two-game homestand with Independence Community College (Nov. 8) and Shorter College (Nov. 9). Following a quick two-game homestand the Cowboys will hit the road to Hot Springs, Arkansas to take on National Park College on November 12. 

Connors State then returns home for Oklahoma Wesleyan (Nov. 14) before returning to the road to open Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference (OCAC) play against Seminole State (Nov. 17). After Thursday night's conference opener, the Cowboys will return to the friendly combines of Melvin Self Fieldhouse for the Conference Home Opener against Eastern Oklahoma State College (Nov. 21) to begin a three-game homestand. Following the first-semester conference portion, the Cowboys step out of Conference for the rest of the semester for some crucial home games. After spending Thanksgiving at home with families the Cowboys will take on Neosho County Community College at 4:00 pm (Nov. 26) before finishing the three-game homestand with Central Baptist (Nov. 28).

Connors State returns to the road following the homestand for a quick road trip down to Russellville, Arkansas to take on Arkansas Tech (Nov. 29). Following the Quick Road Trip, the cowboys will return Home for a crucial Region Game with National Park College (Dec. 1). On Friday afternoon the Cowboys hit the road for an afternoon tip in Bartlesville with Oklahoma Wesleyan (Dec. 3). Muse and the Cowboys return home to take on South Arkansas Community College (Dec. 5) to cap off the home portion of the non-conference slate before hitting the road the following night to take on Southwestern Christian (Dec. 6) to finish the first semester before the Christmas holidays.

The 16-game OCAC slate resumes with a road game in El Reno against Redlands Community College (Jan. 9). The Cowboys return home for the first time in 2023 when they take on Murray State College (Jan. 12). Connors State will return to the road to take on the two-time defending OCAC Regular Season Champs Northern Oklahoma College- Tonkawa (Jan. 16). Connors State will then return home to begin a two-game conference homestand to battle Western Oklahoma State College (Jan. 19) and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (Jan. 23) before returning to the road to battle the Jets of Northern Oklahoma College-Enid (Jan. 26). Following the brief road trip, the Cowboys return home to Melvin Self Fieldhouse to take on Seminole State College (Jan. 30) to finish the January slate of games.

The February slate of games begins with a Short Road trip down to Wilburton, Oklahoma to take on the Mountaineers of Eastern Oklahoma State College (Feb. 2). The February home portion of the Conference schedule starts with Redlands Community College (Feb. 9) before returning to the road to take on Murray State College (Feb. 13).

Connors State ends OCAC play with two home games and two road games. The Cowboys return home for Northern Oklahoma College- Tonkawa (Feb. 14). The cowboys then close out the road part of the conference schedule with a two-game road trip with Western Oklahoma State College (Feb. 20) and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (Feb. 23). The Cowboys close regular season play with a Monday Night contest against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid (Feb. 24) on Sophomore Night inside Melvin Self Fieldhouse.

The OCAC Region 2 Tournament will take place March 8, 10-11 in Muskogee, Oklahoma inside the Muskogee Civic Center.
