The Northeastern State University’s Communications & Marketing team earned honors during the 2022 Oklahoma College of Public Relations Association Awards competition.
The results were announced last month during OCPRA’s annual conference. Members of the NSU Communications & Marketing team took home two awards as part of the competition.
Ernest Rollins, media coordinator with NSU Communications & Marketing, won the Grand Award for his featurette titled “Lives changed through NSU vision services” published in the Fall/Winter 2021 Imprints Magazine — the official alumni magazine for the NSU Alumni Association.
“We are proud to have talented writers telling the NSU story through our publications and all written materials,” Vice President of University Relations Dan Mabery said. “They help to share many of the great stories on our campus that would otherwise go untold.”
Beth Peterson, senior graphic artist with NSU Communications & Marketing, won the Excellence Award for Best Use of Social Media (Events/Student Life) for her Spring 2022 Commencement Giphy Stickers.
“Our design team continues to push themselves to create visual storytelling elements that convey the NSU spirit in a way that is dynamic and accessible to all audiences,” Mabery said. “I look forward to seeing their designs develop even more over the next year.”
NSU Communications & Marketing is tasked with promoting the institution’s story through a variety of print and digital mediums. The office also acts as stewards of the NSU brand and strategically manages communication regarding NSU programs, faculty, staff, research and activities both internally and externally.
OCPRA was founded in the late 1960s to promote higher education for the purpose of enhancing Oklahoma’s economy and quality of life for citizens. NSU has been an active participant for more than 30 years.
