A trio of Northeastern State men's golfers took Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars Thursday.
Carlos Gomez was recognized for the third time in his career and is the program's first three-time recipient. Ryan Morant was named for a second time, and Brayden Strickland earned his first honor from the GCAA.
To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior, or senior, have a stroke average of 78.0, and maintain a 3.2-grade point average.
174 NCAA Division II athletes from 66 schools earned 2021-22 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors.
The RiverHawks had half of MIAA's GCAA All-America Scholars, with its Oklahoma members accounting for all six awards.
Since 2003, this matches the largest group of golfers to be honored by the GCAA for their academic work, with the NSU men's golfer program earning 22 accolades.
