Northeastern State University Men’s Soccer rolls past Bacone, 10-0

Flynn Semmerling landed his second career hat trick as Northeastern State rocked Bacone 10-0 on Tuesday evening.

The RiverHawks’ goal total is tied for fifth most this season in NCAA Division II men’s soccer and the third-most in a match in program history.  Semmerling’s hat trick is the first of the year for NSU and the 31st of all time.

Tuesday’s match went scoreless for nearly 20 minutes before Ryan McCully landed one of his two goals of the night.  The RiverHawks scored three more before the half, with Martin Martinez, Semmerling, and Giani Mascarel contributing.

In the second half, Luan Lamas scored NSU’s lone unassisted goal in the 54th minute.  Semmerling had the team’s following two goals in the 73rd and 75th minute.  McCully kept the offensive attack going with his second goal in the 81st minute.

Luke Allport had his second goal of the season in the 84th minute, and Javier Solis recorded his first career goal in the 86th minute.

The RiverHawks out shot the Warriors 37-to-5 and had 23 attacks at the Bacone net.

Niklas Kirhoff had three saves and his sixth shutout of the season.

Bacone falls to 7-6 on the year with the loss.

Northeastern State improves to 7-3-2 and will return to GAC/MIAA play Saturday evening at Rogers State.
