Despite being idle this last week, Northeastern State climbed seven spots in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II poll Tuesday and is ranked at No. 16 nationally.

The RiverHawks have opened the season 2-1-1 overall, with all their matches being played away from Tahlequah.

Of the teams in the GAC/MIAA, NSU is the only team to be ranked with Fort Hays State and Rogers State outside the poll but receiving votes.

The ranking is the highest since the 2018 season when they peaked at No. 8.

Northeastern State returns to the field Thursday, where they will travel to Harding to open league play.
