A dominant first quarter spurred by 13 points from Jade Millan gave Murray State a commanding early lead and the Lady Aggies never looked back in an 84-62 road romp over Western State College in the regular season finale Monday night.

Now 23-6 on the season and winners of 16 straight games, Murray State’s next action comes Thursday, March 9 in the NJCAA Region II tournament at Muskogee.

The Lady Aggies raced to the 26-11 cushion after one quarter and that margin ballooned to 45-21 at intermission and 70-35 through three periods before coasting home to finish off conference play with a 15-1 record.

Millan had a strong outing, canning five three-pointers, to finish with 23 points, only two off her season high. Payton James notched 15 points for Murray State as Mattie Busby and Reese Webb also tallied double figures with 10 apiece.

Briana Knabe and Remi Langmaid scored eight apiece, Cristina Laudan chipped in seven and Lanie Gooch ended with three points.
